What the check tells you

  • Who is getting your customers

The businesses Google shows before you, by name, on the search your customers type: your trade and your town.

  • Why they rank ahead

Reviews, rating, photos, hours, replies, latest review: every gap in numbers, competitor by competitor.

  • What to fix first

The fixes that matter, with the time each one takes, in the right order.

  • Before you spend a franc

Measure your position before paying for ads, an agency or software. It’s free.

How it works

What the check does, step by step

  1. 1

    You type your business name

With your town, for example “Garage Meier Zug”. No email, no account, no card: nothing else is asked.

  2. 2

    You pick your Google listing

We show the matching Google listings. You click yours. We only read what Google shows publicly to everyone.

  3. 3

We search the way your customers do

We search Google Maps for your trade and your town (for example “garage Zug”), in your region’s language. We note your position and the businesses Google shows before you.

  4. 4

    We compare, number by number

Reviews, rating, photos, opening hours, description, review replies, latest review: your listing next to the ones ahead of you.

  5. 5

You get the result in 1 minute

Your position, the competitors by name, what puts them ahead and, for each gap, how to close it. Right on screen.

How Google decides

What moves a listing up on Google Maps

Google ranks local listings on three criteria. You don’t control distance. The other two, you do.

Relevance

Does your listing match what the customer types? Categories, description, services.

Distance

Where the customer is relative to you. Nothing to do here.

Prominence

Reviews, rating, replies, photos, and consistent details everywhere on the web.

  1. 1

    The right categories

    ≈ 1 h

One exact primary category and up to 9 secondary ones. Most listings have one, often the wrong one.

The rest is in your own check

Why it matters

Customers call one of the first

For “trade + town”, Google shows a map and a few businesses before anything else. That’s where the calls come from.

Google says how it ranks

Relevance, distance and prominence. Distance isn’t up to you; the other two are. The check measures what you control.

You can’t buy the spot

Google states you can’t pay for a better local ranking. The listing makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Is the check really free?+

Yes. No email, no card. If you then want us to fix the listing for you, you can request a quote; it’s never required.

What data do you read?+

Only what Google shows publicly on your listing and your competitors’: reviews, rating, photos, hours, description. Nothing from your Google account.

Will my competitors know?+

No. The check reads public information; nobody is notified.

My listing doesn’t show up. What now?+

Try your exact business name with your town. If it still doesn’t appear, the listing may not exist yet or may not be visible: that’s exactly the first thing to fix.

What happens after the check?+

You can fix each point yourself with our detailed free guide, or request an instant quote and we’ll take care of it.
